POSTED SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 An Octave Above would like to welcome our two newest members, alto, Amy Yassinger and baritone, Zach Benkowski. A Western Michigan graduate, Amy comes from the north suburbs, bringing with her extensive experience in vocal jazz. Zach graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign where he gained a lot of experience singing bass in one of U of I's many talented a cappella groups. Click their name to read more.

An Octave Above is looking for vocalists to fill vacancies in the alto and bass/baritone section. Vocalists must be independent singers with good intonation and the ability to learn music quickly and adapt to a previously developed group sound. Rehearsals are scheduled on weekday evenings at locations in a few different Chicago suburbs. Paid performances average around one per month and mostly occur on weekends with an occasional overnight, weekday or weekday evening performance. Performances require memorization of all music with light choreographed movements. Come on and Take a Sleigh Ride is an eclectic collection of popular Christmas favorites such as Sleigh Ride, What Child is This, O Holy Night, Go Tell It on the Mountain, Silent Night, Away in a Manger, GesĂș Bambino, We Three Kings, plus many more!
